Those are word that many hope to hear every time they are sick, despondent, or suffering from any imaginable circumstance. As you can read, it will take faith–sincere and genuine faith in Jesus–that will allow us to hear these words. If you you will read the preceding verses,the woman noted here had been suffering from constant bleeding for 12 twelve years! I do not know anyone who have suffered that long and I can only imagine the weight of such an affliction.
Faith took her from one level to another. The woman, who was not named, must’ve crept near to Jesus while a sea of flesh crowded the Messiah. As a woman in those times and in such a situation would really have a hard time getting close to Jesus. Sometimes men do not care.
But Jesus did!
That is how our Savior, Jesus, is such different from all other gods. He takes time for us. Many spend so much time, money and effort. Going to pilgrimages. Performing countless rites. To no avail. This woman, who did not even had a chance to even get seen by Jesus, got the attention of the Lord. All because she had faith. She did not have to shout, make a scene or bribe a disciple. She only had faith, and it moved mountains!
Lord, may I have such faith as this woman.
