What the Quake in Japan Meant–ABSOLUTELY Nothing

Mar 12, 2011 | Uncategorized

That is if you do not have a love for Jesus and for others. It would mean absolutely anything. The immediate effect to you would probably to be a bit scared and thankful that this did not happened in your country. Then you would go on as if its business as usual.

But can I ask you to pause for a while and ponder this: there is a part of the Christian Bible that foretold some of these things. In Matthew 24 to be exact.

In verse 7, Jesus mentioned there that earthquakes that will occur. Along with rumors of war and kingdoms rising up against up kingdoms. The succeeding verses speaks of warnings to those that have a personal relationship with Jesus. And they are serious warnings.

When you think about it, the frequency of these events are becoming, well,  so frequent. We had earthquakes in Haiti, China, New Zealand and so many other places. But after those events, we just went on with what we were doing especially when it did not happen to you right?

Look at the uprising in the Middle East. First Tunisia, then Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, and may parts of Africa. As I write this, there  is something brewing in Saudi Arabia.

It would be wise to treat these as the signs being said in Matthew 24. As one speaker said, these are birth pains. When the baby is ready to be delivered, the pains increase in frequency and intensity. What birth are we talking about here? This is kind of a figure of speech for the second coming of Jesus. Granted, there have been more severe earthquakes, uprisings in the 20th century, but this time seems different.

So what do you do now? First you need to have a relationship with Jesus. Matthew 24: 31 says, “And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.”

If you were following, the angel will gather His chosen ones–those who have a relationship with Jesus. Do you have this relationship? If you sincerely think that you do not, then take heart, you only need to pray directly to Jesus and tell Him that you want Him in your life. That simple.

Please note that I said “sincerely”. You need to be honest with yourself that YOU really have a personal relatioship with Jesus. Not something shallow. You need something deep. A relationship with Jesus needs a few basic things, praying to Him only, reading His word which is the Bible, sharing the good news with others, having compassion and love for others. The most important is the confession that YOU want JESUS in YOUR life.

Do you think you have that? If you said yes, the only you need to do is endure. Verse 13 of still the same chapter says, “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

“Father, may we all endure to the end so that when the trumpets sounds, we will all be ready. In Jesus name, amen.”
